>Description:

The file lib/krb5/krb/appdefault.c has a bunch of functions
which allow files to read the appdefaults section of krb5.conf.
However, none of the Kerberos applications seem to call
any of these functions.

>Description:
Contrary to what the documentation says, krb5 clients do
not use the [appdefaults] in /etc/krb5.conf. This is causing
me significant grief as I moved from Kerbnet (which does use
it) to MIT krb5 and depended on those defaults being used.

See <ftp://ftp.cmf.nrl.navy.mil/pub/kerberos5/krb5-patch-oct97>
which fixes this problem and quite a lot of others. Contact

>Description:
I was reading the admin guide and there was a discussion of
appdefaults. However, it seemed that the functionality was not
present in the applications like telnet and kinit (example taken from
the documentation). I checked through the code, and
profile_get_string() is not available to the general library.
Wouldn't this be a really useful thing to have available to
application programers? Or were there reasons to not support this
(seemingly useful) functionality?

>Description:

We would like to forward a forwardable ticket with the commands "rsh" and "rlogin" without using the option -F. The documentation
explains that we must use the section "appdefault" in krb5.conf:
[appdefault]
klogin = {
forwardable = true
}
kshell = {
forwardable = true
}
But this solution doesn't work...
