Subject: RE: [Usatlas-users-l] RCF/US Atlas: New AFS client for Windows
Date: Thu, 1 Apr 2004 14:09:54 -0500
Hello
Thank you very much for your updates.
I have installed and it does work.
However I have one trouble.

I was not table to synchronize the desktop clock using

"Action" -> "Synchronize time" menu

I did set the local time server

"Option" -> "Leash Property" -> "Time Server" - "Name" ->
"clockserver2.bnl.gov"

I suspect this is due the default port the Leash uses to communicate
the time server is NOT "123" or something like this. However I did not
find a way to customize it.
Have you any advice on that?

Thank you.
----
Best regards
Valeri

Leash does not implement Network Time Protocol (NTP). Instead it uses
the older "time" protocol which is most likely not supported by your
servers.
As non-Administrator users are unable to set the time on Windows 2000
and above servers anyway; and Windows 2000 and above already perform
their own time synchronization we will be removing this functionality
entirely in the next major release of KFW.
