Subject: We should update to autocon 2.12 in the source tree
X-Send-Pr-Version: 3.99
System: OSF1 kangaroo.mit.edu V3.2 214 alpha
Machine: alpha
Autoconf 2.12 is out now. It includes Toms feature for
concatinating several files - although Tom used
a syntax of a:b+c+d, they are using a:b:c:d
The change to autoheader.sh is not in there yet - but this would allow
one fewer thing we needed to support.
I think we should put into our aclocal.m4 an AC_REQUIRE statement to
ensure we are using the proper version.
There are also some good macros we could use - like
AC_CACHE_CHECK and clean up some of aclocal.m4 - in fact I suspect alot
some general cleanup to use standardized macros would be good...
