>Description:
I previously reported 6 different ways in which
attempts to change my own user instance password failed.
I have subsequently found one that worked. Thus, we can
proceed with upgrading our kerberos server to V5, although
the work around is not user-friendly, so I will downgrade
the urgency of my request for support.

Not sure what did it;
In any case the sequence
kadmin -p sklower@EECS.BERKELEY.EDU
kadmin: cpw sklower@EECS.BERKELEY.EDU
appears to work now, although it does require that
the v5 kadmin program be made available on all v4
platforms, as well as an /etc/krb5.conf file.
This is annoying, etc.
