I am trying to use get ticket for a non-english (japanese) user, but I
am being thrown an error message saying

"kinit(v5): Client not found in Kerberos database while getting initial
credentials"

I am not sure if Kerberos authentication is Internationalized. Can you
please let me know if I can do anything about it.

MIT Kerberos for Windows is not internationalized. Network Identity
Manager does
support Unicode inputs but at the present time the underlying Kerberos
v5 libraries
do not. I'm not exactly sure at which boundary the principal name or
password will
become corrupted. I have not tried a non-ASCII principal or password in
a very long
time because of the character set issues.
