Hi,

We are a few students from I.T.V. ( Instituto Tecnologico de Veracruz
)Mexico.

During the last dais we been tring to install Kerberos 5 beta 5 on a
Linux server with this procedure:


1. Download files from :
ftp://athena_dist.mit.edu/pub/kerberos/dist/950505

2. Unzip files listed for take off the extensions (.gz and
.tar)

files:

Readme.trademark
krb5_doc.B5.tar.gz
krb5_crypto.B5.tar.gz
krb5_src.B5.tar.gz



3. After this, we try to install it like this:

a) cd/ul/krb5_B5/scr
b) ./configure
c) make

4. Once done this the screen display the follow error:

an_to_ln.c: In function `dbm_an_to_ln':
an_to_ln.c:88: `datum' undeclared (first use this function)
an_to_ln.c:88: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
an_to_ln.c:88: for each function it appears in.)
an_to_ln.c:88: parse error before `key'
an_to_ln.c:93: `key' undeclared (first use this function)
an_to_ln.c:103: `contents' undeclared (first use this function)
make[3]: *** [an_to_ln.o] Error 1
make[2]: *** [all] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-unix-subdirs] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 1


Please, could you tell us which is the rigth way to install kerberos
5 beta 5 on a Linux server?.

We will be very thanfull if you could explain us step by step how to
do that.

And who to use the files with extension .sig? (what they use it for?
and how can I edit them or use them?)


We are sure that you can help us with that problem and we are
very glad for you help.
